Mennonite Village Photography: Views from Manitoba 1890–1940
Mennonite Village Photography: Views from Manitoba 1890–1940 is an award winning book produced by the Mennonite Historic Arts Committee. It features an exceptional collection of never-before-seen photographs left behind by four Manitoba Mennonite photographers. The creation of this book required art direction and design services including a careful selection of photo assets, high-resolution scanning and print management.
Time-worn glass negatives were meticulously cleaned, scanned and brought to new life to create this beautifully printed, 104-page coffee table book featuring more than 100 historical photographs. A corresponding website and logo were created for promotion and direct purchase along with a travelling exhibition which has toured throughout Canada. The Mennonite Historic Arts Committee aims to produce future publications and exhibits on Mennonite art. 2020
This book was the winner of the 2021 Manitoba Day Awards by the Association for Manitoba Archives.
